The Omg Tarot! Story
If you’ve been following me for a while, you know I wasn’t always Omg Tarot!
Back in the day, my handle was Tarot by Text.
Tarot by Text was my first foray into the realm of reading tarot professionally. The premise was simple: you text me your question, I text you back a three-card answer, all for ten bucks. It was quick, it was cheap, it was perfect for millennials like me who spend their entire lives on their phones.

It flopped because I had no idea what I was doing.
And it wasn’t just that I was a business noob. I was too much of a tarot noob to pull something like Tarot by Text off. In retrospect, I wasn’t ready to be reading professionally. So, after making a grand total of $0 in sales, Tarot by Text closed.
I didn’t stop reading tarot (obviously). But I cooled off on reading for other people and really focused on getting to know the cards inside and out, backwards and forwards and yes, reversed. And that made me realize that reading reversals isn’t for me.
Somewhere along the line, I realized the Tarot by Text handle didn’t fit anymore. I wasn’t offering tarot readings via text message anymore and the whole thing just felt...like it wasn’t me anymore. I needed to rename my account something that accurately reflected my relationship with the cards; something fun, something bubbly, something that shows I take my practice seriously but I don’t take myself too seriously. And so, Omg Tarot! was born.
